Las Vegas life is fun and games, but the desert dryness and non-stop UV exposure get to the skin eventually. That gives us the much-unwanted fine lines and wrinkles, larger pores, and a general uneven skin texture that looks tired and aging.
PRP microneedling, also called the “vampire facial,” comes into the picture as a conservative, nonsurgical treatment for dull and scarred skin. It combines the body’s healing power by stimulating the natural collagen production.
According to research, patients receiving microneedling combined with PRP significantly saw an improvement in acne. To reap the benefits of PRP microneedling, you need to opt for a trusted medical aesthetics centre, such as CELLAXYS.
Let’s explore everything you need to know about PRP microneedling in Las Vegas to make the right choice.
What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a skin treatment procedure where small needles are used to create controlled injuries in the skin. These micro-injuries prompt the body to start a natural wound healing response.
After microneedling, the body starts producing collagen and elastin, the two core proteins we need for firm, youthful-looking skin.
According to a study, microneedling alone or in combination with platelet‑rich plasma is generally a safe and effective procedure for improving acne scars. It’s also well tolerated due to the low risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
In another research, 60 patients with atrophic acne scars were given three treatments: fractional CO₂ laser, microneedling, and PRP. The treatment concluded microneedling as a safe option for acne scars, with mild to no side effects.
In PRP microneedling treatment, a small amount of your blood is drawn first. The sample is placed in a centrifuge where, as it spins, it isolates the plasma rich in platelets and growth factors.
These are the natural building blocks for tissue repair and regeneration. Once injected into the bloodstream, these enhance the production of collagen and fibroblasts and reduce inflammation.
Benefits of PRP Microneedling
Combining PRP with microneedling actually improves the outcome compared to microneedling alone, especially in the case of collagen stimulation and scar reduction.
Here are some key benefits of combining the two treatments:
- Reduces acne scars
- Quick and safe healing with patient satisfaction
- Minimally invasive procedure
What to Expect During PRP Microneedling in Las Vegas
Here’s the step-by-step PRP + Microneedling process at CELLAXYS conducted by trained professionals.
Step 1: Consultation
Before any needles or equipment touch your skin, the experts have a proper consultation with the clients. Everything from the number of sessions it will take, the depth of microneedling required, and whether the patient is the right candidate for the treatment or not is assessed at this point.
A complete medical history is taken, including all the medications the patient is on, including blood thinners. The specialists also look into the skin type and healing history of the patient.
Step 2: The Blood Draw
Once it is established that the patient is the right candidate, just like routine lab work, the blood sample is drawn and then placed into a centrifuge. As it spins, it separates the platelet-rich plasma from the blood. The process takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 3: Numbing
Next, a tropical numbing cream is applied to the skin. Usually, people feel a mild pressure or sandpaper-like vibration as the cream works its way.
Step 4: Microneedling Treatment
The expert then takes a medical-grade microneedling device and creates controlled microchannels in the skin. The depth and number of channels depend on the patient’s skin concern: Shallow for glow and texture, deeper for acne scars.
Step 5: PRP Application
PRP is applied to the skin. It is gently injected into target areas where the microchannels were created during microneedling. These act like open doors and allow the growth factors to penetrate more deeply into the tissues.
What to Expect Post Treatment?
After treatment, it is normal to expect a bit of redness and swelling on the incision site. Some people feel a warm sensation and experience slight bleeding. However, the symptoms improve within 24 to 72 hours.
Around the third or fourth day post-procedure, the old skin may flake off, so skin renewal can take place. However, you can resume life and work the very next day after the treatment.
When Will You See Results?
It’s important to note that PRP microneedling does not offer instant results. There’s a realistic timeline for the collagen cycle effect. By about three months’ time, you’ll actually begin to notice fine lines, and scars will begin to fade.
Realistically, it takes a week for the skin to look brighter (once the inflammation settles), 3-4 weeks for the collagen remodeling to begin, and 6-8 weeks for a change in skin tone and texture.
At CELLAXYS, up to three sessions are recommended for every patient, spaced 4-6 weeks apart for the best results.
Risks and Side Effects of PRP Microneedling in Las Vegas
Although PRP microneedling is safe due to its autologous nature (derived from the patient’s own blood), there are a few risks, especially given the intense sun exposure in Las Vegas.
- Skin redness that typically lasts 1-3 days
- Mild swelling around the incision site
- Skin tightness
- Light flaking of skin by the third and fourth day
Proper aftercare is a must, especially the use of SPF for at least two weeks following the treatment. Improper care can increase the risk of inflammatory hyperpigmentation, especially in Fitzpatrick skin types III–VI.
Who Should Avoid PRP Microneedling?
According to the clinical guidance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, patients with the following conditions are asked to postpone or entirely avoid PRP microneedling:
- Blood clotting disorders
- Active skin inflammatory conditions such as eczema and psoriasis
- Uncontrolled diabetes
- Active acne and skin infections
- Herpes
- Pregnancy
At CELLAXYS, PRP microneedling Las Vegas is designed as a regenerative treatment plan where realistic expectations are set for each individual patient with a safe treatment plan to follow.
