What Causes Plantar Fasciitis?
Regular exercise may be healthy and beneficial to the body, but excessive activity, especially with poor arch support, can pass that point and become damaging. Such is the case with plantar fasciitis: An inflammation of the tissue surrounding the base of your foot caused by overwalking in inadequate footwear, damage from a hard landing on your feet or injury to the heel.
Symptoms
You may experience a sharp, stabbing pain near the heel at the bottom of your foot: This would be the most common symptom. Additionally, patients report this pain either after a long sprint of walking or when they first get out of bed in the morning. Neither of which is worse than the other but that kind of pain to this part of the heel is virtually exclusive to this condition.
Get a non-invasive treatment
Plantar fasciitis is normally treated with physical therapy, dry cupping or simply a change in regimens or footwear, but these are closer to band-aid solutions rather than a long-term solution or treatment. That answer lies within platelet-rich plasma, or PRP therapy: A simple injection of your own body’s naturally-healing platelets to the direct area of your injury. This will not only greatly reduce pain but also improve and restore function to the heel and foot without requiring an invasive surgery.
Stem Cell Therapy Explained
Due to their natural ability to transform into any other type of cell, stem cells can be taken not only from your own body, but from a different person (likely, the umbilical cord), and transplanted into your problem area. The cells will adapt and take on a different “form” as if they were there since the beginning.
Stem cells can be concentrated and activated. While many types of stem cells are a good starting point for practical use, it is the concentration and activation of the cells that has truly made it an effective therapy. Certified practitioners are able to tweak these cells to address exactly the problem you are facing.
How Does It Work?
- Stem Cell Extraction
- Concentration and Activation
- Stem Cells Transplanted to Problem Area
- The Cells Reduce Pain

PRP Therapy Explained
Platelet Rich Plasma is astoundingly simple in concept; your doctor or medical technician inject a laboratory made concentration that is created from your own blood. That is right, your own blood. Essentially, PRP is a specialized healing plasma.
The benefits of Platelet Rich Plasma will have you feeling completely revitalized, as it is your own natural plasma, which has had the most platelet-dense part of your blood, added back into it. The result is a highly-charged infusion of plasma with a particularly high content of platelets.
How Does It Work?
- Take a Blood Sample
- Separate Blood into Various Components
- Removes Platelets and Stem Cells
- Platelets Injected into Injured Area

Doctor Examination + Tests
Pinpointing the exact location of your pain is crucial to both the root of your problem as well as the injury (identifying the precise area where the injection will take place). This is done by a fairly simple assessment of tenderness and stiffness of the foot while an examination of your risk factors (lifestyle and environments) and medical history determine the severity of your condition.

Preparing for your appointment
In preparation for your treatment, your physician will identify your injury(ies) and curate an entirely specialized procedure for your exact condition and its severity. Also, it is wise to discontinue blood thinners and anti-inflammatory medications to prevent potential reactions, as they will no longer be needed as your platelets will (painlessly and quickly) repair the problem areas in your body without them.
Rehabilitation
Just as fast as an advanced stem cell treatment, you can expect to return to your favorite physical activities in as little as 4 weeks. Generally, this is two weeks of rest or minimal exertion followed by two weeks of physical therapy.
