If you’ve heard about stem cell treatment, you may wonder if it could help you or a loved one with an injury or pain. This promising regenerative treatment uses the body’s own cells to restore function in the problematic areas.
Stem cell therapy is commonly used to treat orthopedic, spine, and musculoskeletal issues. It is a minimally invasive option for those who don’t want to undergo surgery. If you’re considering getting stem cell treatment in Las Vegas, you’re at the right place.
Here’s what you should know before choosing a clinic for stem cell treatment in Las Vegas.
What Is Stem Cell Treatment?
Stem cells are a unique type of cell that can make copies of themselves, meaning they can self-renew. They can also differentiate into other kinds of cells. Stem cells are found in many parts of the body, helping maintain healthy tissues and repair damage after injury.
These cells can transform into other cells based on where they’re located. For example, hematopoietic stem cells are found in the bone marrow and can generate all types of blood cells. Other stem cells can develop into brain cells, heart muscle cells, bone cells, or other specialized cells.
Stem cell therapy is a regenerative medicine treatment that helps repair damaged or diseased tissue using stem cells or substances made from them. It’s typically used as an alternative to transplants because it uses living cells instead of donor organs, which can be hard to find.
Researchers grow stem cells in a laboratory and differentiate them into specific cell types, such as heart muscle cells, blood cells, or nerve cells. Once the cells are ready, they can be injected into a patient’s body. For example, in someone with heart disease, the specialized cells may be injected into the heart muscle.
What Does Stem Cell Therapy in Las Vegas Treat?
At CELLAXYS, our experts use stem cell therapy to treat various orthopedic and musculoskeletal issues, including:
Knee Osteoarthritis and Cartilage Damage
The knee is one of the most studied areas for stem cell therapy. Many clinical trials have injected mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) into knee joints with osteoarthritis, with results showing reduced pain and better function scores over 6–12 months compared with placebo or hyaluronic acid.
Shoulder Problems
Stem cells are also being explored for shoulder conditions such as rotator cuff injuries and shoulder osteoarthritis. Experimental studies and early clinical reports suggest a potential to reduce pain and improve motion.
Hip Pain and Osteoarthritis
Research on stem cell injections for hip osteoarthritis shows some positive patient outcomes related to reduced pain and better mobility. In a 2023 study, five out of six patients showed a major improvement in reported outcomes after MSC injections into the hip joint.
Elbow and Wrist Conditions
Stem cells can also be used to treat tendon problems, such as tennis elbow and wrist osteoarthritis. Systematic reviews of tendon disorders suggest that stem cell therapy is a viable choice if rest and physical therapy have not helped.
Neck and Back Pain
Stem cell treatments have been proven effective for degenerative disc disease, neck pain, and back pain. A study in the Spine Journal reported that certain patients experienced pain reduction and functional improvement following intradiscal stem cell therapy.
How Does a Stem Cell Procedure Work
Here’s what you can expect during CELLAXYS stem cell treatment in Las Vegas.
Step 1: Collecting Healthy Stem Cells
The first step is harvesting stem cells from the patient’s own body. The physician determines the best source based on the condition being treated, but stem cells are typically collected from either bone marrow or fat tissue.
If bone marrow is selected, the physician uses a needle to withdraw a small sample from the iliac crest (the upper part of the hip bone). This procedure is known as Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC).
If fat tissue is chosen, the physician performs a minor liposuction procedure to remove a small amount of fat. The stem cells are then separated from the fat tissue. This approach is called Minimally Manipulated Adipose Tissue (MMAT).
Step 2: Processing and Concentrating the Cells
After collection, the cells are processed according to FDA guidelines that allow only minimal manipulation. The stem cells are not expanded or multiplied in a laboratory. Instead, we prepare them for reinjection in their concentrated form.
The sample is placed into a centrifuge, which spins at high speed to separate and concentrate the regenerative cells. In many cases, the physician combines the concentrate with a small amount of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to further support the healing response.
Step 3: Injecting the Stem Cells
Once prepared, the concentrated stem cells are drawn into a syringe and injected directly into the injured or painful area. The physician typically performs this procedure using imaging guidance for accuracy. Many patients begin to notice reduced inflammation and gradual improvement in pain within several weeks.
What Does Stem Cell Treatment in Las Vegas Cost
The cost of stem cell therapy in Las Vegas depends on the type of stem cells used, the number of injections, and the overall treatment plan. In general, pricing ranges from approximately $5,000 to $25,000.
For a single stem cell injection targeting one specific area, the average cost is around $4,000. If multiple injuries are treated during the same session, each additional area may cost as little as $800.
Patients seeking treatment for orthopedic conditions generally pay on the lower end of the range. Because orthopedic treatments typically require a lower cell dose, costs often range from $5,000 to $8,000.
Meanwhile, stem cell therapy for autoimmune, degenerative, or inflammatory conditions tends to be more expensive. These treatment programs typically start at around $27,500, with higher costs depending on the complexity and number of sessions needed.
Is Stem Cell Treatment Right for You?
Stem cell therapy may be a good option if you have mild to moderate joint damage, chronic tendon injuries, or early-stage osteoarthritis and want to avoid or delay surgery. Studies confirm that stem cell injections should only be considered as a conservative treatment when other treatments haven’t worked.
If you’re suffering from advanced joint collapse or severe structural damage, you may still need surgical intervention. Connect with CELLAXYS’ professional team of surgeons to find the best stem cell treatment in Las Vegas for your pain or injury.
