Bob Kendzior is a CellAxys patient who was experiencing pain in his knees, shoulder, and hips before seeking help from our doctors.

“My condition started when I was 13 years old,” Kendzior said. “I developed a condition which resulted in some bone spurs in both of my knees. Those bone spurs eventually developed into an arthritic-type condition that stayed with me throughout all of my adult years.”

Kendzior was a highly active individual, and this pain prevented him from doing activities which he enjoyed.

“I wasn’t able to do a lot of the things I had previously been doing,” Kendzior said. “I like to run, walk, bicycle, golf and swim. I had to discontinue doing anything that required me to stress my knee joints.”

As the years went on, Kendzior’s active lifestyle took it’s toll on his physical health. Eventually, his shoulder began to experience similar problems and the condition of his knees worsened.

“Shortly after that it was winter and I fell on my right hip. It didn’t seem to matter that much at the time, however after that once again I found that I was developing conditions that were painful. I wasn’t able to sleep on my side and I began taking painkillers full time.”

As the pain developed further, Kendzior sought alternative treatments. He reported to his doctor who referred him to Dr. Otten.

“Initially when I first met Bob, he came into my office to talk about his shoulder pain,” Otten said. “He had been told in Chicago that he needed a shoulder replacement and he was really adamant against having that done so I offered him a couple different options outside of surgical intervention.”

Dr. Otten worked closely with Kendzior to develop a treatment plan specific to his conditions. After some consultation and assessment, Dr. Otten thought the best course of action would be the CellAxys Platelet Rich Plasma therapy.

“Prior to seeing Dr. Otten I wasn’t able to get my arm much higher than shoulder height. I wasn’t able to put my suitcase in my overhead on an airplane. Since those injections I have been able to bring my arm up to probably 90% of where it had been before.”

Kendzior continues to see the results from his treatment at CellAxys and reports that even after 3 years, much of his pain is still gone. He returned to the team in the summer for treatment in other problem areas.

“It was at that time that we talked about his knee, shoulder, and he wanted to do something else for his hip. I offered a couple different options including the PRP that we had done previously,” Otten said. “But this time when he came back, because he wanted a couple different things done at the same time, I offered him something called adipose derived stem cell therapy.”

The CellAxys stem cell therapy has proved to be a success for Kendzior in dealing with his knee, hip and shoulder pains. He continues to lead an active lifestyle and appreciates the work Dr. Otten put in to help restore his physical health.

“He truly wants to act in the best interests of his patients, walks the talk and deals accordingly. He is truly a commendable doctor and I would highly recommend him.”Bob Kendzior is a CellAxys patient who was experiencing pain in his knees, shoulder, and hips before seeking help from our doctors.
